MOTHS

<3 by MOTHS

I came across MOTHS the other day when looking for new music. What I found was a collective of deep, chilled tracks that draw you in with their warm tones and inviting rythmns.

Hope you like them as much as I do and hopefully we will hear more from this artist.

Ducth Uncles play Manchesters Night & Day Café; Saturday 16th April (Redord Store Day)

The Manchester 5 peice played a collection of songs new and old, with huge aplause from the audience for favourites such as 'Face in' and set finalé 'Doppleganger'. There was also good reactions for their forthcoming albums title track 'Cadenza' and 'Fragrant' which was released 11.10.10.

If you havent already, check out the bands website where you can hear some of their music and even download some tracks for free.

Here is the previously mentioned 'Fragrant' remixed by The Answering Machine

Are idependant music stores making a comeback?

The link above takes you to an interesting article about the rise in indie music stores and also the state of the music industry as a whole.

Which do you prefer? To have the instant online digital download, convinient and quick, or to go to a store and browse their collectio; talking to the guy behind the counter and maybe having them play a track for you?

Me? I like both. The experience of going to a record store and actually going out to buy a tangiable item is always good, just as good as the wait to get home and play the album. But without digital music sales I wouldnt have been able to so easily purchase many of the albums listen to, and on the flip side, those artists wouldnt have been able to reach so many people.

You Are A Tourist & Fragile Bird

City & Colour - Fragile Bird

Death Cab For Cutie - You Are A Tourist

Tuesday the 5th of April saw the arrival of 'Fragile Bird', the first single from City and Colours coming album 'Little Hell'. The track is more rock/blues than previous releases with a sound more likely to be gracing our radios this summer, more up-beat as opposed to the mellow sound we are used to.

On the evening of the 5th and up to the last minutes of the day, depending on where you live, Death Cab For Cutie recorded the music video for their latest release 'You Are A Tourist'. The video was the first live, scripted, one take music video shoot ever.

One of the best days for music this year? For me, easily.
